About this deal

This exhibition presents the first opportunity see the full collection of original watercolours illustrated by Michael Foreman for the book.

It was designed by Sir Nigel Gresley as part of the A1 class—the most powerful locomotives used by the LNER at the time. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. With family at its heart, the story is warmly written and joyously illustrated by national treasures Michael Morpurgo and Michael Foreman. A spunky heroine and a mighty train combine forces to challenge notions of gender roles and will encourage all readers to hold fast to their dreams. This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally).

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Other parts of our museum are also closed, please check the Visit page for the latest info about closures. It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you.It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. Michael Morpurgo, aided by Michael Foreman's luminous watercolour work, sings an eloquent hymn to the golden age of steam' - Financial Times 'A spunky heroine and a mighty train combine forces to challenge notions of gender roles and will encourage all readers to hold fast to their dreams. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first.

An inspiring tale from Michael Morpurgo and Michael Foreman celebrating the world's most iconic train, Flying Scotsman, and its greatest fan, a young girl named Iris. It tells the story of Iris, who dreams of being a train driver when she grows up, just like her dad, who drives Flying Scotsman. You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot! You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods. But each time Flying Scotsman pulls away, Iris wishes more than anything that she could be in the driver’s cab, just like her dad.
