About this deal

The seventh iteration weighs less than the previous model, and yet its midsole is much softer due to Brooks tinkering with the DNA Loft foam to increase comfort and support. After getting hurt a few years ago I ran in stability shoes for a season, and they felt nothing like the Transcend.

This isn’t a very lively shoe, but its ability to move with the runner is an upside and the lateral stability features are a nice addition. The Glycerin GTS 19 has a little bit more flexibility through that toe-off phase of your gait cycle which I think is a great asset.

I don’t mind support and some stability but I want to notice it less and not have it interfere with my stride quite so much. A GAIT analysis provides information on how you run, and it helps you choose the right type of shoe for your running gait. It's a slightly thicker tongue than what I've probably seen from Brooks out there but it's not overly voluminous regarding the change of fit and feel. We are experiencing a high volume of traffic at the moment, please bear with us whilst we load your page. This is one of those shoes that isn’t flashy in how good it is, it is only when you realize you haven’t thought about an aspect of the shoe does it prove to be good.Very slight tweaks to the upper, no changes to the outsole, and subtle, but important shifts in the midsole set it apart from its slightly lighter brother.

We're talking about the runner that makes contact on the entry point and as they transition through to midstance, there might be a little bit of bias towards that medial side, resulting in mild overpronation as you get ready to come out of your gait cycle. the medial side GuideRail while improved impeded my transition to toe off due to, I think, its length more than anything else and also potentially its firmness. The midsole of these Brooks Transcend 7 includes the long-lasting DNA Loft compound , already present in the Brooks Transcend 6, for a more reactive cushioning and smoother and more dynamic transitions. The Brooks Glycerin GTS 19 shares much of its engineering with its neutral family member, the Brooks Glycerin 19. Those needing more support could opt for the Adrenaline with its firmer BioMoGo DNA midsole with DNA Loft heel insert. The Brooks Transcend 7 is here; the latest update of one of the emblematic top of the range models in cushioning for pronator runners from the North American company. Two most similar shoes as they share a DNA Loft midsole and similar fit, the Glycerin is purely neutral, while the Transcend brings stability to the table.

the Brooks Transcend 7 offers solid support but it is a bit heavier compared to most support shoes (weigh 10. If you're looking for comfort, you can't go wrong here; even if you don't need the extra support they offer. We are fortunate, because since 2001, we’ve been able to focus exclusively on the pursuit we love more than any other. The tongue straddles the line between overly soft and just thick enough, and I wouldn’t make a change - while the laces are softer than your average newborn kitten. While I had no pains resulting from running in the Transcend, I just wasn’t as comfortable in the support felt at the feet and knees, finding it a bit over controlling and over directed. Let’s begin with the fact I have never run in a version of the Brooks Transcend, so I had no idea what to expect, except for no medial post (which I greatly appreciate). When you feel like your lightweight trainers and long runs are, in one runner’s words, “tearing apart my body,” the Transcend just may be that missing link in your shoe cycle. Likewise, and to guarantee superior support in each step, the designers of the American firm have once again opted to include the Guide Rails framework.
